Nytt SIM kort fungerar inte

Just changed operator to Vimla from 3, but the network does not work when turning on the phone.

I get the message for "SIM network unlock PIN", what is that? I have tried using the PUK number and the PIN number and the SIM card number.

nut nothing works, really need my phone for work.

What is the problem?

That message usually mean that the phone is locked to another provider. In Sweden only Tre still lock devices but older devices can gave provider locks. And of course also phones from other countries.

I see now you have an S4. Back when they were new for example Telia still locked the phones. You can unlock it through your original provider or buy a code from an online seller. My guess would be around $10-20

Thanks for the help. Not sure what you mean by saying the phone is locked to another provider.

I have had 3 as a provider for a few years now and from today have changed to Vimla.

Not sure why/how the phone is locked or why i need to pay for it being unlocked

@Steven-Hook Have you activated the card? Before you can use the sim card, it needs to be activated. For sim card activation, you need to contact support. Together with the sim card it should be followed by a description for activation.

The easiest way to contact the support is through the chat.

Couldnt get the phone "unlocked" from the link you sent Asawi.

What am i supposed to do now?

Had to pay tre 350kr have no idea why, but what can you you do

@Steven-Hook Glad you got it sorted. 350 is the standard provider fee for unlocking phones that were bought before a couple of years ago. Nowadays Tre still lock their phones to their network, but after a certain time (1 or 2 years, don't remember which) they have to unlock it for free. Unfortunately this doesn't apply to phones bought before the new regulations. Anyway, now you're good to go! 🙂
